A lash lift combines the semi-permanent lift and curl provided by eyelash extensions but without the damage to your natural lashes. That’s why many women consider a lash lift and tint an excellent alternative to eyelash extensions at our Waltham med spa.
What Is a Lash Lift?
A lash lift uses silicone pads to lift, straighten, or curl eyelashes, adding the appearance of length for a fuller, more sensuous look. It’s a safe and pain-free technique that creates results that last between 8 and 12 weeks. A lash lift is also more affordable than eyelash extensions and requires minimal maintenance. We use the Elleebana lash lift at ChicMed. It’s appropriate for short or long lashes and is a formaldehyde-free treatment that makes natural lashes appear longer, a perfect option for clients not interested in pursuing eyelash extensions.

You should arrive for a lash lift and tint appointment without makeup. After discussing your cosmetic goals with the person performing the lash lift, we’ll clean your lashes. The provider then applies a silicone shield to the skin with a gentle adhesive on both the top and bottom of the shield. A perm solution softens the lashes so they can be molded. This solution remains on the lashes for several minutes and you can get the lashes tinted at this point. The procedure concludes with the application of another solution that helps hold the curl and the provider removes the shields.

Caring for Your Lash Lift
Avoid applying makeup and getting your lashes wet during the first 24 hours after the appointment. That includes staying out of steamy environments. That’s really the only precaution you need to take after the procedure. After the initial 24-hour period, you can wear mascara and treat your lashes as you would normally. That’s also what sets this technique apart from getting lash extensions, which involve more delicate care. Conditioning lashes with coconut oil or facial oil at night helps keep the results looking good.
